NorthEast United FC register their first win of the season

NorthEast United FC secured their first win of the season by seamlessly destroying Delhi Dynamos for 2-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday. The head coach of NorthEast United FC and their players were in tremendous pressure, as they suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Chennaiyin FC a few days back. However, NorthEast was completely different team yesterday and they pulled of an incredible game to secure three valuable points from the Delhi Dynamos.
Both the sides started the match very cautiously and they even failed to create goal scoring opportunities in the first minutes of the game. Nevertheless, winger Holicharan Narzary of NorthEast FC delivered the first strike of the game in the 17th minute to put his ahead of the hosts. The defence of Delhi Dynamos, which have already conceded 8 goals in the tournament, will need huge improvement if Delhi wishes to move forward in the points table.

The hosts were not able to recover from the early blow by delivered by the NorthEast FC winger Holicharan Narzary, as Danilo scored another easy one to the nets to extend the lead of his team to 2-10. Even though, the hosts tried to get back into the game by creating a few chances, NorthEast FC goalkeeper and the defenders stepped up against the challenge and made it impossible for Delhi to come back. NorthEast continued to dominate ball possession and they comfortably kept the hosts at the bay.
After the match, the head coach of Delhi Dynamos, Miguel Angel admitted that he might need to alter the playing style of his team to improve their performance. He added, “I like to play from the back, but it’s not possible when the players have low or little technique. It’s better to play long.”
