FC Pune Aims To Defeat Chennaiyin FC

The head coach of FC Pune, Ranko Popovic is highly confident that his team will be able to finally end their win drought against Chennai on Sunday. Pune city has failed to defeat Chennai since the beginning of the Indian Super League but they might be able to overpower the visitors if they are able to strengthen their defence.

The Pune City coach said, "This is one more reason to be motivated," FC Pune has faced Chennaiyin FC for six time and they have never been on the victorious side in any of these occasions. Chennaiyin FC was able to win four of these matches while the remaining two matches ended in draws

Ranko Popovic said, "Whatever has happened in the past can be changed; that should be our motivation. But even bigger motivation will be to get all three points. I'm looking forward to one good performance from my players. We need to play well." Pune FC will be more than confident this year, as they have easily won two of their last matches

Additionally, Pune FC is also in incredible goal scoring form, as they have managed to score nine goals in the first three matches of the season. The striking duo of Emiliano Alfaro and Marcelinho has found the back of the net on more than a few occasions already. On the other hand, Chennaiyin FC who is very well aware of the threat of these two Pune FC frontmen will have to keep things tight at the defence to stay on top of the strikers

Chennaiyin FC Coach, John Gregory said, "We need to be at our best against Pune. Two of their boys have grabbed all the headlines in the last couple of games. Alfaro and Marcelinho are playing outstanding. They have scored goals between them. And we'll certainly need to be at our best to try to keep those two quiet."
