Kerala Blasters remains winless

Sachin Tendulkar’s Kerala Blasters FC once again failed to mark their first win the fourth season of the ISL. Even though, Kerala Blasters were able to take an early lead against Mumbai FC through the striker Mark Sifneos, the late resurgence from the visits denied the side three points in their third game of the season.

The good news is that the Yellow Army were able to end their 194 goalless minutes of the season thanks to a stunner from Mark Sifneos. The Kerala Blasters striker swept in the cross from the youngster Rino Antony and gives an early lead to his team in the fourteen minute of the match.

Kerala Blasters FC seemed to be the dominant team for the most part of the game and it appeared that they have done enough to register their first win of the season after two goalless draws against the defending champions, ATK and Jamshedpur FC. However, things did not go well for Kerala Blasters when Balwant Singh thumped in an elegant low cross from Santos in the 77th minute of the game.

The yellow Army has made their intentions clear right from the start of the game and they wanted nothing less than a victory. However, a number of missed chances and C.K. Vineeth’s sent off in the final minutes of the match put Kerala Blasters into the backseat and prevented them from earning three points.

Even after conceding the goal, Kerala Blasters continues to attack the bowl and they dominated the ball possession but they failed to convert the goal scoring chances. The Blasters, even when they were down to ten men, fearlessly pushed for a goal. The ex Manchester United player, Dimitar Berbatov final shot went just over the bar  and that concluded the epic battle between Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City. The point takes Kerala Blasters into the seventh spot and Mumbai to the sixth spot.
